Maribel lived in Virginia and was a child of her parents and siblings, though the details of their lives are not available. As a child Maribel was interested in becoming an attorney and pursued her career in the field of law. But, when she graduated at the age of 16, she enrolled at the University of Virginia where she studied for a degree in Foreign Policy with a minor in German. The University of Virginia is among America's most prestigious universities, and has its history going back to 1819, when Thomas Jefferson founded it. Jefferson was one of the Declaration of Independence authors. The school has grown to include more than hundred programs, around the location of Jefferson's Academical Village which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The university sits on around 1,600 acres at its central campus, as well as thousands additional acres for its research parks as well as its farm.
